Financial Aid Information and Instructions 2009-2010

Arts In Motion is a nonprofit community school. Scholarships funds are available through the generous donations of individuals. Arts In Motion makes partial financial assistance available to students who can show documented financial need. We make an effort to honor every request, but funds are limited. We make financial determination based on the amount of funds available, the number of requests received, and the factors listed below. In addition, recipients of financial aid are required to volunteer and assist with our scholarship fundraising. Decisions for awards are made by Arts In Motion Executive Director and are final. You must be pre-approved for financial aid before starting your class or lessons. Awards are not renewable and you must reapply at the beginning of each semester of the program year (September – August) by submitting your current financial information with your registration form (PDF). All information and documentation received by Arts In Motion will be kept confidential. You will receive a response regarding your application within 48 hours.

  2. Commitment
    • Students and parents must be able to complete the entire semester
    • The family will honor their financial commitment by following through with payment for their portion of tuition.
    • Student and parent must talk with teacher or staff if there is any difficulty in making progress in their studies due to attendance, lack of practice, lack of motivation or other factors.

Instructions

  1. Fill out the attached form, if your household income is the SAME OR LESS than the amount on the chart or if you are applying for a foster child. Please make sure you have answered all the questions.
  2. Attach one of these documents: Provide prior year 1040 tax return or Social Security award and current job pay stub for all adults in household.
  3. Drop off or mail form and documents to:

Conditions of Financial Assistance:

To ensure success in their studies; student/parents must follow these conditions. Financial Aid may be withdrawn or future awards may be denied if conditions are not followed.

  1. Student must attend class/lessons, rehearsals and performances as scheduled.
  2. Student must call if they must miss a class/lesson, rehearsal or performance.
  3. Student must practice and participate in class/lesson or sponsored activities to the best of their ability.
  4. Student and family must participate in ongoing fundraising events and volunteer work - the scholarship will be withdrawn and lesson/classes stopped until participants meets requirements.
